Our production guidelines are based on the ‘Medien Standard Druck 2018’ (Media Standard Print 2018) produced by the Bundesverbands Druck und Medien e.V., (bvdm), (German Printing and Media Association), the European Color Initiative (ECI) ICC profiles and the ISO standard 12647-2:2004 (PSO).
– PDF-X4 (CMYK/offset-standard)
– Documents in single-page view mode
– At least 3 mm trim
– Trim marks, 3 mm spacing from final trim-size
– All fonts embedded
– Correctly defined overprinting/omissions, cut-outs, blanks
– Files named by page number (e.g. 001_Catalogue_2020.pdf)
The data must be created with the same profile as the proof. Digital proofs that are supplied with the Ugra/Fogra media wedge are to be provided to ensure colour accuracy. Colour deviation between the measured actual values of the proofed media wedge and the Ugra/Fogra target values must be situated between the defined Media Standard Print tolerance values.
Upon consultation, the creation of digital proofs is also possible. Before the start of production, it is necessary for you to transfer the test data to us so that we can check it. We are responsible for the electronic archiving of the printed sheets. We assume that you or one of your service providers update and maintain the original layout data. If corrections are made, we receive new PDF files with the relevant pages for us to exchange.
To obtain a printing result with optimal colours, we ask you to generate your data and proofs according to the ICC profiles defined below. If you have any questions regarding the selection of the correct profile, for example in the case of paper types which cannot be categorised, we are, of course, happy to advise you.
